Gravewake's True Purpose

Karst does not know that every soul Gravewake takes is fed directly to Vexara the Hollow Queen. He believes it is simply a powerful weapon. In truth it is a feeding instrument — and every battle he wins makes Vexara stronger.

DM NoteWhen to reveal: when the party gets close enough to Vexara's operations to start connecting the dots. Cassian may be the one who finally figures it out.
🔒 Player Unknown 🔮
Azeylie Killed Lyra

Azeylie does not remember killing Lyra — the person she loved most. It happened in the ruins, under Vexara's influence. The memory is suppressed. She has fragments but not the truth.

DM NoteThis is the central emotional bomb of Azeylie's arc. The reveal should come through memory, not exposition.
🔒 Player Unknown 👁️
Magnus Vex — What Is He Really?

Magnus exists in Vash's head. Three possibilities: a genuine memory fragment, a cult construct, or something Vash's own fractured mind built to fill the gap left by his stolen sister memory.

DM NoteLeave this ambiguous as long as possible. The answer matters less than what Magnus represents.
🔒 Player Unknown 💀
Vexara Is Not the Final Threat

Everything feeds upward toward The Void. Vexara is a Hungering God — she hungers because the Void created her to hunger. The Void is what waits at the end of every road the party is currently on.

DM NoteLet the players think Vexara is the ceiling for as long as possible. The shift to cosmic horror should feel earned.
🔒 Player Unknown
The Void & Nyxus

The Void may be a fragment that separated from Nyxus in an age before memory. Nyxus knows more than they reveal. The Order of Shadows serves a god who may not be entirely separate from the thing they are fighting.

DM NoteUse sparingly. Best deployed when the party finds forbidden texts or reaches the Island of Mist.
🔒 Player Unknown 🧬
Azeylie — Why She Survived

The Vessel Seekers consider Azeylie both a failure and a breakthrough. Her original half-elf nature interacted with the experimentation unexpectedly. The resistance is also what makes her dangerous to Vexara's plans.

DM NoteThis becomes Azeylie's agency — the thing that makes her not just a victim but the reason the plot fails.

🏛️
Aetherwyn — The Deep City

The party is heading here. Underground city beneath massive tree roots, housing the Vault of Crystolas.

DM NoteMoriko's amulet is required to access the Vault. This is where her arc pays off.
🍄
Wall of Fungaria — Immediate Next

The Wall is reacting to corruption. Creed will feel something here. Use this as a breathing moment — give the players a scene that reminds them the world is worth saving.

🌊
Thalor's Involvement

Thalor is actively fighting Vexara from his domain. The players misunderstand why the ocean keeps doing strange things.

DM NoteSave Thalor. A deus ex machina if used poorly, the most meaningful reveal if used well.
🗡️
The Voidbreaker Fragments

Five pieces hidden across Dorlorial. At least one near Aetherwyn. The party may have already encountered a fragment without knowing it.

DM NoteDon't introduce as a quest item. Introduce it as something that keeps appearing near the party.
